Our 30th Anniversary Giveaway Recap

November 12, 2013

The following story is taken from a press release from late last month celebrating the winners of our 30th anniversary giveaway. We’re so thankful to be a part of this great community, and to be a trusted provider of heating and cooling service. Here’s to the next 30 years, and congratulations again Officer Kelley & Van!

A State Trooper from Brinson and a Bainbridge Family Win Two Free Air Conditioners From Harrell King Heating & Air As Part of 30-Year Anniversary Celebration

10-24-13 (Bainbridge, Ga.) — Harrell King Heating and Air surprised two Southwest Georgia families by naming them winners of the company’s 30th anniversary air conditioner giveaway contest.  State Trooper Meed Kelley of Brinson won the “Provide, Protect, and Prepare” giveaway, and Van Toliver of Bainbridge won the giveaway available to any Southwest Georgia residents within the Harrell King service area.

“Giving away two air conditioners was our way to celebrate our anniversary and show the community how much we appreciate their support,” said Harrell King, owner of Harrell King Heating and Air. “Without our customers, we certainly wouldn’t be here celebrating serving them for 30 years.”

On October 23, State Trooper Meed Kelley of Brinson was in the middle of a work scheduled radio interview talking about car seat safety on Live 101.9, WBGE-FM in Bainbridge when he was surprised to see Harrell King and the Komfort King mascot walk in and announce on air that he had won a free air conditioner in the company’s “Provide, Protect, and Prepare” giveaway.  The category was for members of law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, active military members and spouses, K–12 educators, paraprofessional educators, and local college professors.

“I came into the radio studio expecting to give a talk about child safety seats when the door opened up and in walked the Komfort King.  I immediately knew I was set up!” said State Trooper Meed Kelley.  “Not a lot of people tend to like law enforcement, probably because they fear we’re about to give them a speeding ticket or something, so it means a lot for Harrell King Heating and Air to show their appreciation by creating a special Provide, Protect and Prepare giveaway.”

“We felt that our first responders, service members, and educators deserve a special thank you for all that they do for everyone in our community so instead of giving away just one air conditioner, we offered a second unit as a special contest to make their odds of winning even better,” King said.

A week earlier, Van and Marilyn Toliver of Bainbridge were surprised to see Harrell King and the Komfort King mascot walking up their driveway to inform them that they’d won the giveaway available to any Southwest Georgia resident in the Harrell King Heating and Air service area.

“I was washing my car when all these cars pulled into my driveway so I assumed they were lost!  Then I saw the Harrell King vehicle and I started wondering if I had won the giveaway and was totally surprised because I never win these things,” said Van Toliver.  “Harrell told me to sleep well because this wasn’t going to cost me anything out of pocket. Everything was included, no catch as it’s simply the company’s way of celebrating their 30th anniversary.”

Toliver added that the timing was perfect because his current unit was purchased back in the 1990s and the electric bills were killing the family.
