ARE YOU BREATHING "BAD AIR"???
Beginning in the early 1970's, the home construction industry began
to transition to more energy efficient designs. Homes are simply
built better in regards to air leakage into, or out of, the home.
The result is that most homes built in the last 25 years or so
are much "tighter" than ones built previously. While this
has resulted in a much higher level of energy efficiency and savings,
it has inadvertently resulted in reduced fresh air exchange rates.
Polluted air winds up being trapped inside the home waiting to be
inhaled by the occupants.
Indoor Air Quality, as a direct result, has now
become a major issue in the housing industry. Airborne sicknesses
have suddenly found the perfect environment in which to thrive.
Many bacteria and viruses, such as common cold and tuberculosis
simply wait to be inhaled by an infected person and then inhaled
by the next unsuspecting person. These types of organisms can thrive
on the inside of heating and air conditioning systems causing numerous
health problems if the systems are improperly installed and/or maintained.
Don't continue to put your family at risk by delaying an evaluation
of your home. The solution to almost all Indoor Air Quality
issues is very straightforward if properly diagnosed and corrected.
You owe it to yourself and your family to have fresh, uncontaminated
air that is breathable and as free of contaminants and pollutants
as possible!
- The Center for Disease Control - According
to the CPC, airborne contaminants "may be transported to
other areas via the heating, ventilation and air conditioning
systems and subsequently affect populations beyond the immediate
project area."

- The EPA - According to the EPA, "Asthma
afflicts about 20 million Americans, including 6.3 million children.
Since 1980, the biggest growth in asthma cases has been in children
under five. In 2000 there were nearly 2 million emergency room
visits and nearly half a million hospitalizations due to asthma,
at a cost of almost $2 billion, and causing 14 million school
days missed each year."

harm than good".

CONTROLLING YOUR AIR QUALITY
Don't just sit around and keep breathing in all those nasty air
pollutants inside your home. Help fight off common colds, viruses,
and allergies in your home by increasing the quality of your indoor
air. You can do many different things to help reduce the pollutants
in the air inside of your home.
Below are some products that we can provide that can help you keep
your air clean:
- HEPA Air Filtration: Defined by the CDC as
"Type of air filter that removes >99.97% of particles
0.3 um or larger at a specified flow rate of air." This is
typically recognized as the highest level of filtration possible
and is considered Hospital Grade filtration.
- Electrostatic Air Cleaner: Defined as a particulate
collection device that removes particles from a flowing gas (such
as air) using the force of an induced electrostatic charge. Typically
remove particles at a 70% efficiency rate.
- High Efficiency Media Air Cleaner: Will remove
small breathable particles and other airborne pollutants larger
than one micron. ( Non-Ozone Emitting)
- Electronic Air Cleaner: Will remove small
breathable particles and other airborne pollutants larger than
one micron. (Emits Ozone)
- Humidification: The process of adding moisture
to the air, usually performed during winter. Generally, this practice
will reduce the chance of upper respiratory problems caused by
dry air. An indirect benefit is that you will feel warmer and
will, thus, be able to use less energy due to lower temperature
settings for your heating system.
- Ultra Violet Air Disinfectant System: Uses
high intensity UltraViolet light to kill bacteria, viruses, mold,
fungi, and other living microorganisms. This system is commonly
used in conjunction with a high quality filter.
